Our Mission and Impact
The Misericordia Women’s Auxiliary was founded in 1945 with a core mission to raise funds for Misericordia/Heart of Mercy Home and to educate members of the community about Misericordia and its important work.
The MWA is proud to have raised over $20 million to support the Misericordia Heart of Mercy Home through a variety of philanthropic events. The Auxiliary is exclusively a volunteer and charitable organization. It is organized under the auspices of the Misericordia Home, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
Our Members
Our members are 150 dynamic and dedicated women from the Gold Coast through the North Shore suburbs. Members also volunteer at the Home both independently and in member organized events.
About Misericordia/Heart of Mercy Home
The mission of Misericordia/Heart of Mercy Home is to support children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities who choose our community by providing the highest quality residential, training, and employment services. We provide the full continuum of care designed to meet each person's changing needs and maximize his or her independence, self-determination, interpersonal relationships, and engagement in the community. Through our dedicated families, employees, volunteers, supporters and community networks, we offer an environment that fosters each person's spirituality, dignity, respect, and quality of life.
